Welcoming Harry and Lucy to the ForwardMotion Team

Published: 24/06/20

Despite most of our team working from home over the past couple of months, we’ve still managed to recruit two new wonderful additions to our team.

Meet Harry Monk and Lucy O’Dell!

Harry, our new Cycle Mechanic has joined the Cycle Hubs team and will be based on site in the Tilbury Hub repairing, maintaining and upcycling bikes. Speaking to Harry, he shares a little more about what got him into mechanics:

“I’m a very hands-on person, and I enjoy all things mechanical, fixing, diagnosing and replacing things that are broken. I’ve always worked on my own bikes since I was young and have never lost the passion.”

On joining the team, Harry added:

“I’m looking forward to being part of a team that are so passionate about making a difference. I can’t wait to get involved and play my part in making my home and the home of so many others a greener, safer and more sustainable place.”

New Travel Engagement Officer Lucy will be supporting the engagement team as they start getting out and about once more. Lucy will be helping people with travel planning and helping to run our events, as well as being an overall ambassador for the ForwardMotion brand. Lucy explains what enticed her to get involved with ForwardMotion:

“I have a passion for exploring the outdoors through long walks and also signing up for fun fitness challenges (and earning those medals!) I enjoy the mindfulness of walking and always promote it for physical and mental well-being.”

On her commitment to helping sustainable travel, Lucy added:

“I am really looking forward to being able to promote local opportunities and schemes to help people travel more easily and sustainably, and creating a new mindset on active travel across South Essex.”
