Iain Banks

Active Travel Programmes Manager

Iain is a keen cyclist, and practices what he preaches, helping people to partake in more active ways of travelling with an emphasis on getting on the saddle. He has engaged various demographics throughout the campaign in order to spread the message about the importance of active travel, including health benefits and the impact on our environment.

Caroline Lee

Senior Cycle Mechanic

Caroline trained as a bike mechanic over 10 years ago and loves working with bikes. She also likes to ride both on the road and off the beaten track. Caroline would love to learn how to unicycle one day, potentially as an alternative method of active travel for her commute to work.

Essex County Council

The Sustainable Travel Planning Team

The Sustainable Travel Planning Team (STPT) at Essex County Council works with businesses, schools and housing developers throughout Essex to promote active and sustainable travel choices. Our team has over 30 years combined experience with helping people access alternatives to driving alone for a range of journeys and are always pleased to hear from you on how we can help! The Cycle Training Team

The Cycle Training Team at Essex County Council provide bikeability training for school pupils, families and adults across Essex. Our aim is to get residents out on their bikes and using bikes for transport in and around Essex. Luis Herrera Reyes

Thurrock Project Lead

Luis is a regular and enthusiastic cyclist committed to get more people on two wheels. Luis has worked for several years promoting and enabling cycling across the borough through delivering public campaigns, wayfinding schemes and planning for improvements on the cycle network. Luis is convinced on the benefits that cycling brings to communities and individuals and will work with ForwardMotion to make it easier for more people to cycle

Tracey Finn

Thurrock Project Lead

With a background in the health sector Tracey has seen the enormous benefits an active lifestyle can have on our mental and physical health. Tracey is involved in various ways of promoting active travel, through both the development management process, by helping to ensure our neighbourhoods are designed in favour of people rather than cars and by embedding measures that support active travel into strategic documents that are being developed by the council. Tracey also provides advice and guidance on Travel plans.

Jay Hunter

ForwardMotion Thurrock Cycle Hub Manager

Jay is the new manager at the ForwardMotion Cycle Hub Thurrock, but joins with vast experience of working on projects supporting the community. Jay has an interest in cycling and promoting sustainable travel, as well as supporting the needs of the local area. He is also a qualified football coach.

Kaye Borley Potterton

Lead Cycle Instructor

With 2 now older children, Kaye has a long work experience engaging directly with people. For 24 years she worked at The Disney Store where the aim was to make every guest that entered the store feel important. Kaye continues working with that ethos to date, training children and adults on how to cycle safely for the last 20 years.

Daniel Lowe

Cycle Technician

Having worked within our Bikeability team for a couple of years Daniel had always been on hand to support the hub when called upon. Recently taking on the role of Cycle Technician, Daniel is an integral part of our team and is our go-to man when it comes to race bikes.
Daniel is a keen cyclist, member of several bike clubs and has great knowledge of cycle routes in Thurrock. Having just earned his e-bike maintenance qualification and holding his Cytech Level 3 accreditation Daniel has vast experience in Cycle repairs and rebuilds.

Codey White

Cycle Technician

Recognised amongst his peers as the best of the best, the go-to man for all your bike servicing needs, Codey holds the highest-level industry standard qualification Cytech Level 3 and is a champion of the community respected and valued within the borough.
Having previously worked at our Hardie Park project for 2 years Codey understands the importance of creating a community feel to the shop and always takes time to explain and work with the customer to find the best outcome for their biking needs.
Just as comfortable on repairing children’s bikes as he is working a full service on high end mountain and e-bikes Codey has been an integral part of the Hub for just over a year now.
Codey’s passion is full suspension mountain bikes and on his day off you may find him hitting some trails and jumps in Essex.
