This project is a spectacular public art event in partnership with Wild in Art that takes place across Southend for 10 weeks raising money for Havens Hospice. Hare sculptures, each one individually designed by an artist and sponsored by a business form a free trail of discovery. Join us for a leisurely ride around town viewing the Hares as we go.
The led rides are suitable for most abilities and takes place predominately on cycle paths and shared space but please bear in mind there are inclines on the route although there will be the option to walk with your bike if necessary. The route is approximately 5 miles. Families are welcome but children should be aged 9 years and upward and be a competent cyclist. The rides are led by accredited cycle instructors.
The led rides meet at the Chalkwell shelter (beach side) on Wednesdays throughout July, August and September. Our Mobile Hub will be on hand at Chalkwell Shelter to offer free bike safety checks to all participants before most of the rides as well as offering mechanical support during the ride.
